Spring Snow Storm

This past weekend we had a spring snow storm that could have brought rain or a few feet of snow. We got a little of both. It started raining on Thursday, rained and snowed Friday morning and by Friday afternoon it was snowing in buckets. In less than six hours we had 8" of snow. As much as I was not thrilled that it was snowing, I was exited to see how much snow we would get. Unfortunately, since we were on the edge of freezing, we were just a little too high on Saturday and it rained ALL DAY!!! It melted most of the snow and Sunday it was beautiful and in the 60's. I'm exited to say that today was sunny, in the 70's AND I got out of the office to enjoy a brisk walk up Clear Creek. Now Clear Creek is a photo moment but I didn't have my camera with me. We did, however, have our camera in action this weekend. What do we do when the weather is crummy outside? Take lots of pictures inside!

Keith out in the backyard for our first (and last) snow measurement.
7.5" in this spot. We were expecting 12-24" of snow, but it didn't make it much past this measurement when it turned to rain.
A Saturday morning cuddle on the couch.
I'm not sure who is more irritated by the others presence, Oliver or Madalyn.
Saturday afternoon we ventured outside. Oliver and Keith were standing in the driveway testing out their new rain jackets for our Oregon Coast trip that is coming up. The coats passed the test and they were dry to the bone. We are hopeful that since we are prepared for rain on the coast we will not need to use the coats and we'll be breaking out our sunglasses and sunscreen. We can keep our fingers crossed, right?

Since it was crummy outside, we took Oliver to the Cherry Creek mall to stretch his legs. He really enjoyed walking the mall but wasn't too sure about the kids play area. OK, Keith and I weren't too sure about it either. It was kind of like letting your kids loose in the monkey cage at the zoo. Kids were running around wild and we saw several get run over. We stayed very close to Oliver while he checked out the breakfast food. Notice he is standing on the waffle and there is some bacon in the background. We have never understood the appeal of breakfast food for toys but the kids love it! Since the monkey's were running wild we only stayed in the play area for a few minutes and then we were off to Cherry Cricket for a burger. YUM!!!

I am 100% positive that there is nothing better than a Cherry Cricket burger on a rainy day. For Oliver, he was really enjoying his chicken nuggets SUPER dipped in ketchup. You don't want to share dipping sauce with this guy. He doesn't get the concept of single or double dip. To him, the more dips the better.
Last summer the neighbors gave us two kids tables, this one and a picnic table. Their daughter had out grown them and they thought Oliver would grow into them. We are SO glad that they thought of us because Oliver is the right size and he loves them. We decided to bring this one in the house and it is his new favorite place to hang out.

How can you pass up a cute picture of dangling tootsies?
Eventually Oliver broke "serious masterpiece" character and cracked up.
Dad must have had a really great joke here! Either that or he was giving him the tonsil shot. HA HA!!
This video might not be overly exiting, but it demonstrates how serious Oliver gets with coloring.

Here, Oliver is showing off some of his animal sounds. We have noticed that he says words quiet, especially if they are new. I think he has a new word every day lately. He is constantly surprising us. Tonight we heard "all done" for the first time and the other day it was his first "bye bye". I must say, "bye bye" is just TOO CUTE!

Shortly after Oliver demonstrated his animal sounds he went back to minding his own business with his crayons. I'm not sure what this is all about but he likes to put things in containers, dump them out and start over. This is a common event with crayons, blocks, Easter eggs, etc. Well, whatever makes him happy :)
