Yellow Blanket

Oliver has discovered that not only is this blanket from Nancy soft, but he can get his fingers through the holes which helps to get a good grip on the blanket and he can get it to his mouth much faster.

Sunday Chat

Sunday Afternoon

Sunday afternoon Oliver had a much loved bath and some floor time. We also discovered that he likes a good back rub. Keith said that it was evidence that he was my kid because of how much he loved his back rubbed. I hope Oliver doesn't discover that there is nothing better than a spa day. If they had (or maybe they do) spa's for kids I would probably go broke with as much as he liked his massage. I think it is evidence that he is our kid just by how much he talks!

By the way, it was 65 here yesterday (as I said in my last posting) and it is now snowing. We LOVE Colorado!!!

Garden and Home Show

We all went to the Garden and Home show for the first time on Saturday. It was Oliver's first exposure to spring. He enjoyed looking around and checking things out. I think he's going to like spring time. He and I went to the mall on Sunday and when we left he was hit with blast of sunshine and a temperature of 65 degrees. I expected the bright light to bother him but he was smiling ear to ear. We are looking forward to taking him hiking in the mountains this summer.

Oliver in the garden displays

This got Keith and Oliver a lot of attention from the ladies at the show.

After a quick nap, Oliver was all smiles and ready for the next round of diplays

I call this shot "E.T., Phone Home" It makes me giggle :)

New Jumperoo

Thank to the great recommendation from his cousin Hazel in Oregon, Oliver has acquired a new Jumerpoo. (Thanks Hazel!) He tested it out for the first time this morning. He seemed to be curious about it and I think he liked it. He was very inquisitive about the new objects in front of him and I think he'll like bouncing around once he figures it out. He spent about 20 minutes in it and then decided to take a nap. After sleeping 12 hours last night, he has now been napping for two hours and counting. He must be a tired boy (Or is this a sign of what is to come in his teen years). I figure he's either growing some more or he is just tuckered out from a busy week at school. We are planning to give him his first rice cereal when he wakes up. That could be an adventure in itself.

I think he likes it!

Is he checking out the mold job like his Dad? Does Oliver have engineering brains? I think I see them working here.

Madalyn and Oliver

Here are a couple of photos of Oliver hanging out on the floor. I caught a picture of Madalyn giving him a kiss, or a sniff, whichever you may think it is. She checks him out regularly and he is now starting to watch her with his eyes. One of these days he's going to discover that she is just as soft as his blankets. I'm not sure that she'll be too keen on that idea and she might not give him drive by sniffs anymore.

Here are some new photos of Oliver. He seems to be growing and changing every day. He is rolling around more and more and loves to put everything within reach in his mouth. Madalyn better watch out or her tail might be next!

After Oliver's four-month check-up (which included shots), we spent a lot of time hanging out and cuddling at home. That day he also got a package from Grandma Garner with new puppets, which he loved. They went in his mouth too.

Good Morning Sunshine!!!! This was Oliver this morning, bright eyed and bushy tailed. He is a morning person, like his Dad. Seeing Oliver smile makes 5 AM more exiting for non-morning people like myself.

Bath Time! Oliver loves bath time, but I think he loves rolling around on the floor naked even more. Lately he has been rolling on his side.

Oliver's Four Month Check-Up

Oliver had his four-month check up today and passed with flying colors. He has surpassed all of the expectation for a four-month-old baby and the doctor was very impressed with his reflexes and strength. Oliver was very happy for the doctor and showed off his big smile and personality. He weighed in at 15 lbs and was 26" long. He is in the 50th percentile in weight and 75th percentile in length. He even did well with the shots. He only cried for a minute or two and then he was fine. He was a little cranky and wanted extra cuddles this afternoon, but after a long nap in Dad's arms, he was back to his happy self. After a hot bath and dinner he went right to bed. Hopefully he'll get a good night sleep.

Last night we took Oliver to his first Mammoth game. We forgot how noisy it gets in the Pepsi Center. Right when we walked in the Mammoth scored and the crowd went wild. This caused Oliver to go wild with a short crying burst. He calmed right down and enjoyed looking around. He even took a little snooze on Dad. We had a good time and Oliver talked the whole way home. We were convinced that he was telling us all about his big night out. Overall it was a successful outing and we think we'll try it again soon.

Oliver Talking

Here is a video clip of Oliver chatting. He usually has a lot to say. Don't mind the drool all over his t-shirt. He has a habit of smiling while he is eating, which usually results in a wet t-shirt. This day must have been a particularly happy one because he sure let a lot of his dinner leak out onto his t-shirt from smiling so much. He also has a case of the hiccups. Funny guy!

He will be four months old tomorrow. I can't believe it! I also can't believe that I've been back to work for seven weeks. Time sure flies. Oliver is doing really well at his school. He is in a regular routine and they love him to pieces. He has seven other friends who are in his class and I hear that he nearly talks their ear off. He is known as the kid who smiles all of the time. He is still sleeping through the night and is now taking regular naps during the day. Well, he takes naps at school. Keith and I aren't as disciplined on the weekends, so he doesn't take as long of naps when we are home with him. We are usually dragging him around town to run errands, go out to dinner, walk around the neighborhood and anything else that sounds like a good idea at the time. We are taking him to his first Mammoth (professional lacrosse) game on Friday night. We have season tickets and haven't taken Oliver yet. Hopefully he does well. I guess we'll find out if we can do it again or if he'll be at home with a babysitter the next time.

We hope you enjoy the video clips!

Oliver in Tummy Time

Here are some photos of Oliver during tummy time this past weekend, showing off his contagious smile. He's not always in the mood for tummy time, but when he is, I have the camera ready.

Oliver's new trick

Oliver impressed us with his new trick last Friday. Check out the video for his demonstration.

We have never blogged before, but thought this would be a good way to share video, photo's and updates of our little munchkin. We hope it works and hope you enjoy it. Of course, I picked the biggest file ever to experiment with, so it's taking forevor to upload. No wonder these videos would never go through email.
