Homeward Bound

On Tuesday morning we hit the road at 6 Am for Portland to catch our 11 AM flights. It was a tight squeeze in our full size car but we made it work for the drive that took just over 2 hours.

Oliver and Rio had a great time in the backseat, side by side. Rio was in charge of handing Oliver snacks, which was a hit for both boys. Oliver and Rio weren't the only two in the backseat. Shane squeezed in too. We called this, "Small, Medium and Large". It also reminded us of the AT&T wireless commercials.

This was Rio's first airplane ride and he was quite exited. Can you tell by the look on his face when we first got to the airport.
When we checked in they informed us that our flight to Denver was delayed by 2 hours. UGH! Not the news we wanted to hear when traveling with a 1.5 year old. Oh Well!
Oliver loved the people movers, or moving sidewalks, whichever you would like to call them.
Keith loved the legos in the kids play area!
Time for good-byes!

Oliver and Rio share some hugs as Rio was about to fly back to Spokane. From the looks on their faces you would think we forced hugs upon them, but they really did give out hugs on their own terms.

Rio was exited to see the airplane he was riding home on and was quick to pose with his souvenir airplane.
Shane and Rio ready to head home.

2 hours later than planned we finally were able to head home too. Oliver was exhausted and he finally decided to crash......but not without an animal cracker handy!
