Easter

Now that spring is here, winter seems to have arrived in Colorado. Sunday was cold, wet and dreary but we made the most of it. We started of at church followed by brunch. Then we came home for some Eater festivities followed by a long nap for Oliver while we made a fabulous ham dinner. I figure just because it's only the three of us doesn't mean that we can't celebrate like there was a whole house full.

To kick everything off we had a few festive decorations and goodies to put us in the Easter mood. This included eggs that we colored the night before and a few things Grandma Garner sent down. We didn't get to let Oliver color them since we got home late the night before from Ian's birthday. We also didn't let Oliver have the big chocolate bunny Grandma Garner sent him. Is she crazy?! Maybe next year.

Keith and Oliver, ready to head to church. Oliver was very handsome in his outfit from Nana Hamilton. Notice the balloon string from Ian's first birthday. We had to pry it out of his hands to go to church. He would have taken it with him if we would have let him.
Keith and Oliver catching up on 10 Little Lady Bugs before church started.
At brunch I was noticing Oliver's eye lashes were looking especially long and fabulous so I thought I would show them off with a photo. He was in serious color mode so there was not a smile to be had. Notice the pursed lips.
When we got home Oliver discovered the Easter basket that was just for him. We didn't have time to check it out before church so we avoided the coffee table until after brunch. Here he is when he first discovered that the Easter Bunny had been here.

Scoping out all of his new reading materials.

Does this look like trouble, or what?

When I saw Keith and Oliver like this it made me notice how big Oliver is getting. Wow!
Oliver LOVES to read! Especially books with animals. He has really started making animal sounds. His best so far, Cow = Moo, Cat = Meow, Dog = Ruff, Fish - Ish! Did you know that Fish say Ish?
Oliver also LOVES bubbles but he has never had much success blowing his own bubbles. Here, Dad is showing him how it's done.
Oliver warms up...
... and blows his first bubbles!
Twice, he blew big bubbles. YAY!
And if that's not enough of a party for you, we can always use MORE COW BELL!
