Monday at Cannon Beach and Seaside

On Monday, we ventured North of Rockaway Beach to Cannon Beach and Seaside. It wasn't nearly as nice as when we were in Cannon Beach on Friday, but we still had a great time. The sun tried to peek out a few times and there was a little bit of blue sky.

Here, Oliver is enjoying building a sand castle. Rio running to the rescue!
I know this picture of Rio is blurry, but I love it!
Hugs All Around!

Oliver was quite the little hugger this weekend. Unfortunately he was giving such heart felt hugs he always buried his face deep in his hug receiver so we couldn't get a good picture of his face.
Both Rio and Oliver loved building sand castles with Grandma.
Keith found this creature on the beach. We're not sure what it is but he thought it was very fascinating. He thought it might be some kind of crab and he put it on top of Oliver's castle. Does this make him King Crab? Ugh!

All three kids!

Shane (youngest) Jerry (oldest) Carrie (middle)

Wow I look short with these two!

Later in the day we moved on to Seaside where Rio and Oliver got to ride on the carousel. Rio loved it!
I can't say the same for Oliver. He wasn't too thrilled with his animal so he ended up sitting on the bench with Grandpa.

Seaside is the end of the trail for Lewis and Clark. I can only imagine how it felt to see the Pacific Ocean for the first time here.
Of course, I'm sure that the Seaside beach wasn't lined with condos at the time.

Of course, we had to have dinner before calling it a night and heading back to Rockaway Beach.
Shane and Mom.

Rio was so exhausted that nothing was waking him up. Not even dinner!
