Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Every once in a while the stars and moon align and I get tickets from work for a sporting event.  They are usually great seats but typically only come in pairs of two.  Friday night we surprised Oliver with a date night with Mommy at the Rockies game.
Also to our surprise we ran into Oliver's friend Tristan from school.  After a fun-filled summer of field trips, the two of them (with numerous others) start Pre-K II on Monday.
Oliver's current #1 hit is "Take me out to the ballgame".  He loves that song but he had no idea what Cracker Jacks were... until now!
He LOVED them!
He may have been sharing with the girl next to him with the way she is picking her teeth.  EWWW!!
Our seats were amazing.  In row 17, straight up from the 1st base.  We were close enough that Oliver thought they could hear us cheering.
Our seats were so close that we couldn't get the entire field in one photo, we had to take two!
Another surprise for Oliver, a Cracker Jack prize!
What a great date night!

It was so good that it was sticking to his chin in Cotton Candy Beard style.
17 rows up, a great photo op.
Oliver spent much of the game on Mommy's lap.  It was a better view and we could chat about the plays.  During a break in the action the jumbo tron caught my attention.  It took a second and then I realized, we were on the BIG SCREEN!!!  Wahoo!!!
From that point forward, Oliver followed in the foot steps of many kids around us dancing and making funny faces in an effort to get back on the big screen.
Such a cutie pie, having fun at the big night out.
We had SUCH a great time.  For the first time, we were on the jumbo tron AND we were there from the first pitch to the very last.  The Rockies lost 6-5 to the Marlin's, but they gave us a great show.  Thanks to MillerCoors for the amazing tickets, thanks to the Rockies for a great night out and Thanks to Oliver for a great date!

Okay. So the HONEST TO VERY GOODNESS TRUTH is that we had tickets to this Rockies game. Yes. We had them.

And we were Denver-bound. We were going to catch some baseballs from THREE ROWS UP, OFF OF THE THIRD BASE LINE. We were going to eat cotton candy, too. (Although Hubs hates cotton candy, which wow! WHO hates sugar spun to airy perfection?!) We were also going to go to the zoo! THE ZOO! And Jump Street!

And then real life got in the way, because computers and servers crash at all the wrong times, and Hubs had to go out of town for four days to get a company all squared away. And then the boy's junior high orientation fell ON THE SAME DAY AS THE GAME, and we really needed to hit that.

So. Hubs' brother and his girlfriend and their kids went to the game with those tickets. Those FREE TO US tickets, because a doctor in town wasn't going to use them, out of his season tickets, and he gave them to us.

So. I'm living vicariously through you, and ONE DAY we will get to the zoo.

Carry on.
