Day six, the half way point.
It's been such a great vacation that our littlest vacationers didn't see 9 AM as they slept right past it. Kellan woke to see 9:30. Really, this is what vacation is for.
Top bunk: Rio
Bottom bunk: Oliver
On the floor taking full advantage of having the toys to himself: Kellan

Does Rio seem to care? No
On Day 6, we opted to hang around Grandma and Grandpa's house and take a hike in their backyard. There were fires in central Washington that were causing quite a bit of smoke haze and poor air quality, but we made the most of it. We were fortunate that it was only smoke danger and not fire danger at Grandma and Grandpas house.
Oliver's first order of business was to find a walking stick.
Rio followed suite with a much smaller walking stick.
Kellan found the walking stick to hinder his running, so he ditched it.
The boys had a great time identifying poop in the woods. Could it be coyote, elk, moose, bear or maybe just a neighbor dog?
This was deemed coyote.
Kellan contributed to the fire danger level by adding his own source of moisture.
Once we made it to the end of the road, we found a gate with a Private Property sign. When we were kids, this road went back into the woods quite a ways. These days, there is no free access. It's kind of sad, but it was also a good time to turn around.
"Race you home!"
Once back home, Grandma pulled out some fun treats for the boys: Sand!
Can you tell who needs a nap and who has long grown out of naps?
That night, we decided to break out of the house and go to Spokane for dinner and some Mini Golf.
First stop, The Onion for Mommy's FAVORITE Mozzarella Sticks!
SO CHEESY!!!
Both the sticks and us.
After a great dinner, that Uncle Jerry stopped by to say hello at (but we didn't take photos, oops), we headed over to Wonderland to challenge the boys to some Mini Golf.
First up, the youngest golfer, Kellan.
It only took one hole for the boys to play ahead of us, so we went ahead and let them. Every now and then we would have to talk them off of the ledge, literally.
Occasionally, they would find a hole that they loved and we would catch up to them.
Rio going for a hole in one.
"We made it, we made it, we made it"
"I made it, I made it, I made it."
We thought that they were kidding but when we watched closer, they actually were getting a hole in one every time on this hole.

We had a fantastic time playing golf. Kellan was super sad when his ball didn't come back to him on the 18th hole, but he got over it when we walked inside and Grandpa treated the boys to some arcade games.
Kellan and Rio racing. Rio wasn't shy to let us know that he won :)
Mommy playing a bit of skeet ball.
Kellan and Rio up for another race. This time, hover crafts.
I just don't know where Oliver gets his competitive streak ;)
Ha ha!
Oliver was Mr Independent around the arcade but
the camera caught up to him at skeet ball.
Kellan even enjoyed taking this big Tonka Truck for a spin.
Air hockey proved to be a lot of fun.
Kellan didn't mind if it went in on his side or the other side. He thought that it was all fun and games until he the puck smashed his fingers. Oops.
While the boys played air hockey, Mommy and Daddy got crazy in neon lights.
Hang on tight, there's more fun to come!
