It was July 3rd and Primrose had their annual Fourth of July Parade. The boys were fired up and couldn't wait. Mommy got their early to be sure to have a great spot for spotting her boys and taking photos.
First out the door from the Ham Fam boys, Kellan.
He was festive in his new gear from Primrose Arts and Crafts and he was SO excited to show off his hand held sparkler craft.
Next up was Oliver.
Yes, we moved Oliver from the YMCA to Primrose on July 1. The YMCA was proving to not be the experience that we had hope for. Oliver was a big driver in the decision making process. to move After his first day back at Primrose he said "Today was better than my best day at the Y." We knew that we had made the right decision. He has been happy every day since.
As an added bonus to being back at Primrose, he won the contest for who got to carry the flag. He was quite excited about this responsibility.
The parade made two laps around the parking lot and Kellan continued to wave his sparkler.
As well, Oliver continued to proudly wave his flag.
After everything he learned about our country in his Pre-K class with Miss Burns last year, he has a very high respect for the United States and the American Flag. It was such a proud task for him to carry the flag for his group.
After the parade, the Explorers sang a few songs. Oliver was concerned because he only had one day to practice the songs with the class. We and his teachers told him that he would be ok, which he was. I could tell that he was disappointed that he didn't know all of the words, but he sang loud and proud when he did.
Kellan was happy to sit in the crowd and enjoy a patriotic popsicle.
After the parade was over, I rounded up our patriotic peeps and we headed home.
(No... Kellan doesn't have to go to the bathroom. This seems to be a comfortable resting place for his hand these days. We're working on correcting this.)
Happy Independence Day celebration on July 3.
