Focus, Determination and Drive

As you know, Oliver is back in flag football action and we are all loving it.  This is Oliver's second season and it is so much fun watching him and the other boys grow and excel in the sport.  He is truly finding his own, growing in his confidence, excelling in his skills and executing each play meticulously.  This is the year of Defense for Oliver.  He is the go to guy to shadow the direction of the ball and drive them directly into the hands of the defense for flag pull after flag pull.  Oliver is a rush to watch, as well as the rest of the team.  Five of the team all attend Primrose together, play together each and every day and then play football together.  They are quite the band of brothers who play hard, debate sports and other facts of life, challenge each other daily, push each others buttons and always have each other back.  Together, they are learning the true meaning of teamwork.  Together, they win together and when the time comes, they'll lose together.  Until that time... they will remain undefeated as the Dragons.
This guy may have thought that he was getting away and he even threw out an illegal blocking arm, but in the end, Oliver landed his flag.
I love the look of determination that Oliver gets on the field.
Oliver worked hard on running the ball this year.  Just like the Dragon's, all of the teams are getting bigger and better and touchdowns are becoming harder to obtain.  However, this is another opportunity to stress the importance of teamwork and that it takes a team to win the game, not just one player.

There is no lack of focus from Oliver on the field.
On the sidelines, focus can sometimes be hard to come by.
Thank heavens for Netflix on iPhone and an episode of Mickey Mouse.
For some reason, it's better to watch Mickey Mouse with your back to the crowd.  Ok, ok... his back is to the sun.  Yes, this one is a smarty pants too.
One of Oliver's techniques is that the second the ball is snapped, he's off the line.  Some of the kids delay, but Oliver doesn't hesitate.  You'll notice that the Offense hasn't even completed the hand off and Oliver is off and running.
Oliver is great at filtering information and it's good, because there are coaches everywhere.  After Oliver got direction from the coach, Caleb was handing out a few more details.  I love this and all of the bubble conversations that I could put in the photo.
Ready for the snap and still receiving directions.
The snap has occurred, and the coaching continues.
Cracks me up!
Check out the look on the other kids face.
Check out the immediate focus on Oliver's face.  Really, his filters are fine tuned.

Meanwhile, Kellan is working on his filters and focus as he slides down to the ground with his eye on the prize, Mickey Mouse on demand.
Oliver, we are so very proud of you and your entire team of Dragon's.
GO DRAGON'S GO!!
