Oliver had his first taste of philanthropic activity. His friend Kai, from school, was born very early and the March of Dimes was there to help. Now, Kai's Mom works for the March of Dimes and she educated the kids on the great work they do and Kai's journey. They now have the opportunity to help out in the community to support the March of Dimes and other babies like Kai. They have a box to decorate and they can collect donations over the next month. We thought it was a great way for Oliver to learn about other kids and also the importance of helping others and giving back. Oliver was quick to put his box together and fill it up... with all of the change around the house. I'm not sure that this is the same as collecting donations, but its a start.
Then Oliver jumped into decorating action by adding some marker and crayon art with a few stickers for extra flare.
Oliver was very proud of the work he was doing but I think his favorite part was filling it with change. Oh yes, he found our change jar and jumped into action.
Oliver checking out the change jar to determine which coin would go next.
Oliver is very excited about this project and is looking forward to donating his box. All of the change he has been finding or earning with projects has been going in his donation box. We are very proud of how much he has embraced this project and we hope he continues to work to give back to his community.
