Mugs for Mom's

The big suprise has been revealed to the Mom's so I can now tell the rest of the world about our big project.  For Mother's Day we painted coffee mugs for our Moms/ Grand - Mom's.  Oliver and I went to the pottery place first so that we could get the mugs started.  Keith brought Kellan down later to add a few finishing touches.  While I painted the base coats of the mugs, Oliver painted a piggy bank and horse.
Here, Kellan is getting a thick coat of paint on his hand to place it on the mug.  His hand was out flat the whole time until it was time to put it on the much. Then, he just wanted to squish the paint between his fingers.

Putting Kellan's hand print on the mug.

Oliver is like an old pro with this kind of art work.  He has made numerous hand print projects at school.  He was SO excited!

Admiring his Hand-y work.

The nearly finished product.
They are laying down so the paint used to write their names doesn't run.

The finished produce after it was fired.

Nana's mug was shipped and Grandma's was delivered this past weekend.  Both Nana and Grandma now have a piece of art that they can keep forever.  Oliver and Kellans hands will always remain the same size and be there to hold their hand each and every morning during coffee time.
Happy Mothers Day Nana and Grandma!
