Soccer, Soccer and a Hair Cut

In Soccer season you can bet that you'll see many photos that to the average person may seem the same.  However, to a parent of the soccer player they are all very much different.
You see those where your child has great control over the ball, is moving it down the field yet the threat of being trampled by the opposing team is extremely present.
There may be the photo where it appears to be the same chase but from a different angle.  This may lead the parents to believe that surely their child was steeling the ball from the opponent.
There is the photo where their child is about to take the lead from the crowd, even if it looks like just another mob of 4 and 5 year olds to other onlookers.
Then there is the photo where their child is, once again, moving the ball with skill and precision down the field.
Don't mention that they are only 4 or 5 years old.  These are serious soccer players!
...
Who are we kidding.  Most of the hour is spent with a mob of kids kicking around a soccer ball. The moral of the story is that Oliver LOVES to play soccer and we LOVE to watch him.  Every week we see him blossom more and more into the athlete that he is becoming.
A Mama can coordinate her son's super cool soccer socks with his red Nike swoosh, but he is still a boy with the masculine chair pose and no care that his underoos are in plain site.
With a slight adjustment of the shorts (once the dear Mama realized that there were tighty whiteys in the previous shot), we have a great shot of two best buddies.
Charlie (AKA early Brad Pitt as Keith likes to say) and Oliver.
Then the leg swings back over the chair arm.
Take Note.... The Hamiltons FINALLY purchased chairs for the players so they don't have to kick the Metzger's out of theirs anymore!
Then, Oliver was back in again.
Yes, these may all look alike, but I can't get enough of how aggressive, determined and competitive he is becoming.
Going for the Goal!
(this was a make-up game due to a rain out so the goals were improvised with cones instead of the usual net.)

After soccer, we had a mother/son date with Oliver's good buddy Owen and his Mom Kristi.
When we asked for a small scoop of ice cream for each of the boys, this was Hacienda Colorado's interpretation.
Let's Hear It!
I Scream
You Scream
We all Scream
For Ice Cream!

(Yes, he has better manners than this.  It took quite a bit of convincing to get him to go in tongue first.)

The next morning, we were back at it.

Cole and Kellan were very much appreciative of the new kiddie chairs.  So much for chairs for the players.
3-4 months ago we got Kellan's haircut and it was a physical wrestling match.  He HATED having his hair cut.  We opted to forgo haircuts until the weekend prior to the family reunion.  We dreaded that the time had finally come for the big hair cut.  We went out of our way to go to the haircutting place by our old house, which happens to be close to where Oliver plays soccer.  We got Oliver in on the plan.  He jumped in the seat (which the lady did mention he was a bit big for.  I used selective hearing to not hear that comment), the hair cutting lady offered Oliver a sucker and before we knew it...
... Kellan was ON BOARD!
It didn't hurt that Elmo was also entertaining Kellan front and center.  Kellan recently became a huge fan of Elmo.
He held up through the whole haircut and he looked SO Handsome!!
The rest of us (all three of us) had a big sigh of relief that it went well.
We owe Oliver BIG TIME for helping out with this one and being such a great sport.
Next up.... A House Party... then a family reunion!
