Nothing says "stay home day" like a game of chess between brothers on the coffee table.
From one game to another, it was time for baseball.
Kellan got a hold of my camera and took a few (ok... many) photos of one of his favorite subjects, Emerson.
Kellan also took a photo of his dear 'ol Mom and Dad.
Kellan must have thought that Emerson's love for popcorn was a fascinating subject to take photos of, we have dozens of them.
We think she's pretty cute too, so we love having photos of Emerson eating popcorn :)
It was also team photo day. I took a few snaps of the team and to make sure that our lighting would work, Owen and Oliver were my test subjects. They were game to help a Mama out.
Team Lightning
After a quick photo and before the game, warm-ups are a must. After A LOT of spring rain, it was a glorious Colorado day.
Batter Up!
After a bit of hitting, Oliver took the field with Owen in the background.
While the big boys played baseball, the little kids played their own game on the playground.
Time for Oliver to bat again.
I love that I caught a quick glance my way after Oliver hit the ball.
Hey Batter Batter!!
I always find it interesting that Oliver doesn't sit with the crowd at the front of the dugout. Instead, he always sits on the end of the bench where he's away from the craziness and can collect his thoughts. In a family of extroverts, Oliver is an introvert and he recognizes that he needs moments to recharge. We love that at such a young age, he already has this insight.
End of the bench or not, he's often got a blue eyed smile for his Mommy.
With a final run past home plate, he goes in with a high-five from his coach.
Oliver had a great game as did the whole team.
With the pull of the glove, this game is a wrap.
