Exploring Sea Life; Clams, Conch and Mer-Men

Another day at the beach?  Yes, Please!
As Kellan played at the shore, Oliver went straight for the surf.
Take note of Oliver out in the water.
Oliver is a water lover, through and through.  He spends most of his time face down, looking at the bottom of the ocean and diving in for buried treasures.
Note the dark spot to the right of Kellan's head.  That's Oliver.
Much of the time, we watch Oliver bob in and out of view while he's swimming.  As a parent, it's completely nerve racking.  We watch and try to remain calm and confident.  We left the beach with a happy ending, so you know that he always came back to shore.
Kellan, he just looks peaceful staring out at the wild blue yonder.  He too loves the beach.
For days, John had been talking about the boys burying him in the sand.  Sadly for John, he wasn't feeling too well on his last day at the beach.  Regardless, he laid down and waited for his burial.  He staked an American flag, just in case we needed a land mark.
Let the burial begin.

It's hard to see in the photo, but John was suddenly turned into a mer-man.
Laurie loved her mer-man.
So much so that she bent down in the sand to deliver a smooch.
The boys with the mer-man.

Then... the boys lost interest when they discovered there was sea life to be explored.
Apparently, we were in a target rich environment for the tiniest clams we have ever seen.  They were fun to catch, watch and explore.
As the mer-man emerged from the sand, he and his bride went to the ocean to lose his fins and gain back his legs.
John, Laurie and the gorgeous beach.

After watching two people spend quite some time putting together this catamaran, Laurie and Carrie sauntered over to take a few photos by it.

Keith and Carrie, loving the beach.
As another fantastic beach day began to wind down, the boys discovered a ton of conch on a sand bar.  We found seven in a matter of 10 minutes.  It was amazing!!  Don't fret.  All sea life were returned to the ocean to become larger sea life; conch and miniature clams included.
Oliver was quite proud of his find.
After a fantastic day at the beach, we topped it off with a great Spanish dinner.  It was amazing.  The boys especially LOVED the fresh mango juice, made from mango's in the owners yard.  She had a soft spot for our two boys.
We may have harassed John that he wasn't tough enough to hang with the Ham Fam since he suffered all day with an estimated hang over.  We found out the next week that he had tested positive for food poisoning form the oysters.  UGH!!!  We were sad that John spent his last day with us under the weather and we are SO lucky that Keith and Oliver didn't get sick during our vacation.
