We Go For Flag Football Sundays

This spring is proving to be a tad miserable when it comes to the weather.  It's not uncommon to see 70 degrees in January.  It also isn't' uncommon to see snow until nearly summer.  So, when it comes time for spring flag football, anything goes.

Some go for shorts, others prefer shorts with long underwear, others go for ski caps and some spectators go for the full winter parka and stocking cap.  No matter what, we are all there for the same reason; we all love to watch our kids play flag football on Sunday afternoon.
I often wonder what was going through their mind when I look back at photos.
Davis and Kellan seem to be contemplating something good.
HIKE!
Run, Kellan, RUN!!!
Running...
Running...
STILL RUNNING...
RUNNING!!!
TOUCHDOWN, KELLAN!!!!!
He went for a second Touchdown but wasn't quite as successful.  He still got a great run in.
The Polar Bears won their second game of the season and it was AWESOME!

Next up, the Dragons came in their interpretation of appropriate Spring Football weather gear and they were ready to rock.
I notice that as the kids get older, more of them are wearing shorts.  I think that this is because by this age, we just send them to their rooms to get dressed.  For the little guys, we still have a bit more input into what they are wearing.

I love this photo.  At first glance, I notice how TALL they all look.  Wowza!!

Then, check out that hand off and Owen's enthusiasm.  This kid is non-stop and this is such an awesome representation of his level of energy.  Go get 'em Owen!
You've got to be quick on Offense with Oliver's laser focus.
He sets his sight on the target...
He goes for the flag...
Bam!
The flag is his.
He doesn't get them all, but with some great team work from boys who have played together for three years, they have mastered quite the unspoken communication to wrangle flags as a team.  They are quite amazing to watch.

This day, Oliver was on fire and hungry for more flag pulls.

Like his little brother, he likes to run the ball for a touchdown.
Run, Oliver, RUN!!!

He just keeps going and I have to turn my camera to focus in on his running away toward the end zone.
As he crosses the end zone, he hears the ref blow the whistle for a touch down and he turns back to see the defense retreating.
Then, he lets his celebratory smile shine as he joins his team.
The Dragons took home their second win of the season and both boys went home to warm up with another fantastic day of Flag Football under their belts.

Way to Go, Polar Bears and Dragons!!!
