This summer seems to have flown by and we haven't enjoyed our backyard nearly as much as we would like. Between the crummy evening weather and our schedule, it just hasn't happened. That was until we decided to get together with the Heineman's and Eric asked if we could have dinner at our backyard bar. "OF COURSE," was our answer!!
We pulled together a quick menu and fired up the grill. Eric is always anxious to take over the grilling at the Ham Fam bar.
Kellan is always anxious to belly up to the bar and eat some of Daddy's guacamole.
First up off of the grill, bacon wrapped shrimp.
YUM!
It was such a nice evening to be at the bar.
The boys were even happy to be at the bar, even if Kellan wasn't in the mood for smiley photos.
We even gave our photographer in training a chance to practice his skills. Oliver did a great job of getting us all in the photo as we enjoyed a frosty beverage at the bar.
Keith wanted a backyard big enough for the boys to play football in. When we bought this house, his vision came to life.
We are fired up for flag football to start soon and this fall, Kellan will play too. We can't wait to see how he likes it. So far, he's lookin' great.
For our main course, we grilled up some tri-tip, Fallon style.
When I lived in Fallon, grilling tri-tip was a common occurrence and very few people had the knack to grill it well. I must say, Keith did a fantastic job.
For our grand finale, Jennie spoiled the boys (nearly rotten) with ice cream cupcakes. I think that it's safe to say that they loved them.
Since we first met the Heinemans, Jennie has been waiting for Kellan to snuggle up to her. Finally, that day arrived. Kellan walked right up and said in his three year old voice, "can I snuggle you?" Without hesitation, she scooped him into her arms.
Such cutie snuggle bugs.
Fantastic idea, Eric, to enjoy an evening at the Ham Fam bar. We are SO glad that you suggested it and the Heinemans spent the evening with us.

Love the frosting-on-the-face snapshots. They'll regret those, when they're eighteen...
