When a bug's got you down, there is nothing better than a nice bubble bath.
Sunday, Oliver woke up feeling crummy with a fever after being perfectly fine on Saturday. It came out of nowhere. All morning, he tried convincing himself and us that he was feeling better. Feeling good enough for his first flag football game of the season. He's a trooper but as the thermometer reading went up, his chances of going to football were going down.
After informing the coach that Oliver wouldn't be at football, we soothed the blow by offering to let him take a bath in Mom and Dad's BIG tub for the first time ever, complete, with bubbles and jets.
When Kellan discovered what was going on he wanted to jump in on the action. We were worried that the tub would be too deep, plus, we wanted to give Oliver a chance to relax on his own. Then, Kellan melted. When he found out that he wasn't invited to the bubble party, he nearly melted in sadness. So, we all had a soft heart and he took the plunge. From there on out, he was all happiness.
Oliver LOVED it and the long, warm, frothy bath took away his yuckiness for a moment in time. He may have loved it but you can see in his eyes that he was less than par.
You can also who was feeling fabulous as Kellan presented limitless facial expressions in a matter of moments.
Fish Lip Kisses
Kellan trying So hard to make fish lips while the bubbles creep up closer and closer to his kisser.
Two floating heads in one big tub.
Oliver sat back and enjoyed every minute of the soothing jets and growing bubbles.
The next day was Monday and we took Oliver to the doctor. One brief glimpse in his throat and we knew as well as the doctor know what the swab confirmed, he has strep throat. Ten days of antibiotics plus a few more bubble baths and he should be good as new.

Kellan is so stinking cute with those dimples, I almost need a paper bag to breathe into!
