From Touchdowns to T-Ball

A friend of Oliver's asked him to play on his t-ball team and he's been asking to play so we thought we would give it a shot.  Originally, I thought that flag football and t-ball overlapped by a couple of weeks.  I'm not sure what I was looking at because it turned out that they are on the exact same schedule.  Fortunately, they aren't on the same day.  Football is on Sunday, T-ball is on Tuesday and Wednesday. Well, except for most of April.  Every Tuesday and Wednesday in April we have had snow.  Granted, it melts in time for Football Sunday, but we have yet to play t-ball until this week.  It snowed this Monday and Tuesday, but by Wednesday the snow melted off.  Not that it was super warm, as you can tell by Kellan being all bundled up, but at least they were playing.

Play Ball!

Kellan was on the sidelines with snack in hand.  Really, what more does a boy need while watching his older brother play t-ball?
Oh yes, his snow boots.
That morning, there was snow and mud on the ground so he took his snow boots to school.  When we picked him up, he was still wearing them from outside time, so he wore them to t-ball.

Oliver was SO excited to be playing that he seemed to be floating on a cloud.
(don't mind the bad lighting.  the sun was behind the players)
He was so excited that he couldn't keep his feet on the ground.

Finally, it was time to switch sides and his team was up to bat.  Since they haven't had any practices due to snow, he was getting some pointers from the coach (Owen's Dad).

On his first try he nailed the ball and it went sailing.
So he ran (of course).

He rounded third and headed for home.
Score Oliver!

Oliver is loving t-ball and we are managing the dual sport schedule.  Ok, so it's only been one week of dual sports, but we'll make it happen.  We figure it's good practice for when both boys are playing sports.  Besides, it's a great time for us to all get out and be together.  We love watching Oliver play sports, even if Kellan does it over the top of his Mickey Mouse show.

Well. I guess we now know Oliver's official nickname.

It's Bo Jackson.

Because FOOTBALL AND T-BALL and TOUCHDOWNS AND HOMERUNS!! Wowzer. You and Keith should be set for a relatively fine nursing home, with his double income from professional sports. Remind O that you only want to be admitted to old folks' homes with swimming pools and liver and onions on the menu every Friday.
