Santa Claus Came to Town

We were very fortunate this year as Oliver's friend Tanner invited him to his house for a Christmas Party and to meet Santa.  Tanner and his twin sister Elsa's family know Santa personally and it was so nice that they invited our family to be there for the big event.

Santa came in singing carols, and had many to sing throughout the evening.  Check it out here:

Santa took a seat on center stage and all of the kids gathered around.  It took a few of them (like Kellan) some time to warm up, but before we knew it, all of the kids were surrounding Santa, listening to his every word.
Kellan and Oliver seemed a bit skeptical, but they hung on every word.

They stayed closer by each other as they watched all of the other kids visit Santa.
Then, finally, it was Oliver's turn.  He walked right up to Santa and sat on his lap.
Santa asked Oliver what he wanted and he knew exactly what he was going to say.  Even with that, he had to look back into his memory bank to make sure he got everything.
#1 Sling Shot
#2 Kite
#3 Bey Blades
Then, Santa pressed a Naughty or Nice stamp on his hand.
You know what... he came up on the Nice list!
Kellan was the next up, and the last up.  We weren't sure how he would do but after watching everyone else, including his big brother, he marched straight up to Santa and put his arms in the air to be picked up.  Our boy was happy to sit with Santa like the big kids.
Santa asked Kellan what he wanted for Christmas and he was a bit shy with his response.
So we prompted "choo choo" from the audience to give Santa a clue.  We didn't want Santa's list to have an empty space where Kellan's response was to go.
Kellan too got the Nice stamp.  Whew, good thing.  We think that Santa is very forgiving for the two-year olds who are pushing their boundaries and learning good behavior.  After all, it is what being two is all about.
After all of the kids sat with Santa, he chatted with them a bit more and sang a few more songs (see video above).

Before Santa left, Tanner's Mom asked for a photo of Tanner and Oliver.  What a couple of cuties.
We took full advantage and got a brotherly shot as well with Oliver and Kellan.  Such a handsome duo.
Again, taking full advantage of the opportunity, the boys got a big Santa Hug!
Merry Christmas!!
Thanks to Tanner and Elsa's family for the invite.  We had such a nice time and we were so happy to meet Santa!!
(For the record: this also clued Oliver into who the REAL Santa was since every Santa we saw after that (mall, stores, etc) he examined carefully and then expressed his concern that it wasn't the "real" Santa.  Good thing that we got to meet the real Santa first hand!)

HO! HO! HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
