Oliver's 5th Birthday Party

Oliver celebrated his Fifth birthday on Saturday since on his actually birthday he had a flag football game.  Birthday or not, the day didn't go off without some chores to get it started.  Are they really chores if you enjoy doing them?  Keith went to mow the grass and Oliver was eager to assist.  This is what I found pacing back and forth in the back yard.

Eventually, Kellan went outside to join them and sometime later I found this.
Kellan apparently wanted in on the mowing action as well, except his legs and arms are still a big short to push himself.  Instead, he opted for a variation of a riding mower.
After a rest for Oliver and a nap for Kellan we were off for Jump Street.  Oliver has been asking for a Jump Street party since his fourth birthday when he had his party there.  Fortunately, they just opened a location near our new house, so it was perfect.
There were smiles all around, especially from the birthday boy.
The boys ran up and down the trampoline.  Sometimes coming down feet first.
Sometimes back side first.
Other times it was a half twist and kick hand stand.
More often than not, it was a cluster of boys and fun.
Kellan stood by in the safety of his Daddy's arms.  Jump Street was a bit crazy for his crazy bones.
After quite some time on the trampolines, the boys headed over to the foam brick pit.

Patrick, Charlie, Oliver, Colby
Front: Owen
Again, it was smile and laughter all around.

They bounced off of the trampolines over and over and over again.
Oliver going for the plunge.
Owen with great form.

Then it was back to Oliver again and again and again.
Then, it was back to the jumping area and down the slide over and over and over.
Meanwhile, Kellan patrolled the perimeter.

All the while, Oliver and his friends were making laps down the inflated slide.
This was an attempt of these three boys going down all at once, kind of like synchronized sliding.
Back at the trampolines, Kellan opted to sit on the sidelines and observe.  At least he was finally willing to do it outside of the confinement of his Daddy's embrace.
He found Cole in the bouncy castle and considered going inside.  However, after a LONG peer inside, he opted out.
Instead, Cole came out.
All of the birthday party boys.  I had to get this with the promise of cake on the other side.

The much anticipated Spider-Man Cake!
Birthday Cake Time

Happy Birthday Big Boy!!
WOW!!!  It's hard to believe you're already FIVE!!
If pictures aren't enough, here is a re-cap of the cake action.
I don't think this group will be signing up for Americas Got (singing) Talent any time soon.
It was finally time to dive into the cake.
YUM!!!
Oliver's lips met the cake with a seal of approval.
Colby was a cake lover as well.
MMMmmm from Owen.
MMmmm from another Owen.
Grrrr... owlisish from Patrick.
Just a happy cheese from little brother Kellan.
After all of the excitement of the part was over, we were headed for home to relax and open gifts.
Oliver gave his best tough guy impression with Batman sunglasses.
What five year old doesn't like comic book figurines.
Never mind that when we called them comic book figures he said "what's a comic book?".
At least he knows one thing... he loves Spider-Man and his friends.
Spider-Man!!
"Luke... I'm your father!!!"
Oopps.... I mean Darth Vadar.
For a whole year since his last birthday, Oliver has been asking for these Spider-Man candies again.
Happy Birthday to our Five Year old Spider-Man loving Oliver!!
