Tuesday we had big plans to go to the Santa Monica pier and then drive down the Pacific Coast highway. The weather was beautiful but super windy and cold. We wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel at the pier but opted out due to the cold and wind. Here are Oliver and Dad on the pier, toughing out the chilly wind.

After the Santa Monica pier we headed down the Pacific Coast highway in search of a scenic drive. We discovered that from Santa Monica the Pacific Coast highway is nothing but stop and go traffic and street lights. After taking over three hours to go maybe ten or fifteen miles, we called it quits and hit I-5 back to San Diego. The weather wasn't optimal for beach combing anyway, so we called the day a bust and headed out.
