Earlier this spring, we joined forces with friends and went in on a silent auction item to enjoy a suite at a Rockies game. It started out as a gorgeous evening and then... the monsoon rain rolled in.
The Rockies got in a few pitches and the gang of little fans cheered them on.
Kellan, Oliver, Owen, Evan, Emerson, Brad (sure, he can be a little fan too) and Chase.
We watched the rain literally move in and as we did, we watched the ground crew cover the infield.
We watched the field get covered and uncovered several times.
Something must have excited Kellan. There is no telling what it was because there wasn't much action going on.
The only action was the pizza party in the suite.
What caps off a pizza party more than giant cookies for dessert?
Finally, after a nearly two hour delay, the Rockies took the field.
As the Rockies took the field, the sky started to clear.
As 10 PM approached, our party people departed as it was a work night. As they all left, Kellan closed down his own party and closed his eyes. This is not common for him and it was SO precious!
That's a big couch for one tiny sleeper.
Oliver always loves the thrill of the competition and the strategy that goes behind it. Oliver and Daddy had a great evening watching the Rockies take the lead.
Watching sports is always such a serious time.
As 11 PM approached, we too called it a night. The boys were beat but they LOVED it!! It was such a great evening with friends and the Colorado Rockies. Next time, maybe Mother Nature will deliver some clear skies.
