Our final day in Steamboat, it was still a bit chilly but the sun was really trying to poke out on Pearl Lake.
The boys had some serious crayfish catching to do so there was no room for rain.
Hold on little buddy! Don't let go!
Even Gami and Jennie were entertained by the crayfish.
It was great fun to watch the crayfish crawl across the dock.
We got a bit of a fire going to keep the mosquito's away but then it began to rain so Papa had to save the fire. Really, it's kind of funny.
Jennie and Kellan looking so adorable.
The crayfish catching continued on and on...
Rain or shine... there were races to be had.
After some time, the crayfish were left alone and the fish were now fair game.
Enough of the fun on the dock; Jennie, Papa and I went for a walk.
Back at the beach, it was time for a bit of a snack.
Owen may not have taken a break from the fishing all day.
Oliver hardly paused either.
Owen and Jennie, cute as ever.
How many times did this guy come up for a crayfish race?
The rain sprinkled on, but Gami and Papa were nice and dry.
We even had a friendly deer stop by to see what all of the fun was about.
Eventually, I peeled the boys away from the fishing action and the three of us took a walk.
As we walked, the sun peeked out.
Even on the other side of the lake Oliver continued to spot crayfish.
As we turned around the head back, Kellan expressed that he was "TOO Hot!". He was not happy about it but the joy of being a boy is that he can strip a few upper layers.
That evening we went out to a great steak house dinner right on the river.
Eric, Jennie, Carrie, Oliver, Owen, Kellan, Gami, Papa, Keith
Oliver was excited to try a local brew (of soda).
Kellan was loving his buttery biscuits.
Owen was happy to be the head of the table.
Gami and Papa were enjoying a lovely summer evening.
As dinner was winding down, Gami and the boys headed down by the river to enjoy a chat.
These boys LOVE Gami!
We think she may love them too :)
The Heinemans and Hamiltons, in the HOUSE!
What an amazing time we had in Steamboat Springs. We enjoyed some activities that we have done before as well as many new adventures. More than anything, we loved enjoying it all with the Heinemans and Scotts.
Happy Independence!!
