Wyoming Hamiltons Go South for Spring

Two weeks to the day after we closed on our new home, we had our second set of weekend guests.  Keith's brother Brian and his family traveled down from Wyoming to spend the weekend with us.  We hadn't seen them since July and we were very excited to see them and meet their new little Hailey.
Oliver was SUPER excited to have his first slumber party.
He camped out right in the middle of his cousins Kaden and Lauren.
When I bent down to give him a hug and kiss good night I discovered that he was slumbering in his skivvies.  Crazy Boy!  Where are your PJ's?
Fist thing the next morning Keith snatched up Hailey and it was love at first snuggle.  He may have threatened to keep her about every 30 minutes.  He couldn't get enough of her.
Oliver was quite smitten with Hailey as well and could hardly get past breakfast before he wanted to hold her.
Oliver was ALL smiles for a photo with his new baby cousin.  Hailey has some practice to do to get the hang of co-smiling for pictures.  If we went right, she looked left.  If we went left, she looked right.

Oliver was absolutely in love with little Miss Hailey.
Later that morning the kids all went to the playground and then out for a walk.  I caught them from our back door heading out on their nature walk in search of snakes and spider.  Fortunately, they only found rolly-polys.
It didn't take long for the kids to get distracted and for the Dad's to not notice.
Our handsome boy Kellan sure is growing up fast!
Miss Hailey enjoyed watching all of the kids from the elevation of her Daddy's arms.
Kellan was armed and ready to fend off any large creatures with his brothers trusty sword.
Oliver was super excited to put aside his Primrose uniform for the day and wear tie-dye (his choice).

Kellan still armed and dangerous.
In search of an unsuspecting snake.
Later that morning, Hailey was well rested and ready to charm the camera.
Uncle Keith was never far away and ready to spoil her with attention.

Getting close and telling secrets.
Late Saturday morning we headed out to run some errands and get lunch.  Hailey was all loaded up and the boys couldn't get enough of their baby cousin.  I wonder if they recognize their hand-me-down car seat?
Miss Lauren and Aunt Carrie were all prettied up and ready for the Target.
In celebration for Cinco de Mayo the girls and Kellan went to Tequilla's Mexican restaurant in Golden. Stephanie and Lauren celebrated with some festive beverages.
Kellan and Mommy celebrated with festive beverages as well, however, there was a snafu in the order. Without realizing it I ordered a Strawberry daiquiri instead of a margarita.  I guess deep down I was dreaming of the Caribbean and not Mexico.
Just after ordering who do you think arrived but THE BOYS?!
They were even being sat right next to us!
Kaden and Oliver were proud to show off their green tongues.  EWWW!!!
We had a great lunch and then it was back home for much needed naps.
After Hailey's nap she posed for a few photos in the living room.  She loves her tummy time!

Hailey trying to swim to her Aunt Carrie.
Look at those big blue eyes!  I think someone is trying to give Oliver and Kellan a run for their money in the big blue eye department.
Saturday night we went to the Rockies game and Stephanie and I spent time Saturday in search of some Rockies duds for our little dudes and dudettes.  Here are the kids in their Rockies gear: Lauren, Hailey, Kaden and Oliver.  What you can't see is Kellan standing to the side debating on joining them or maintaining his pouty lip.  He had taken a monster nap and wasn't overly thrilled with being woken up and thrown into high gear.
The Hamiltons walked into Coors field like they owned the place!
Brian (with Hailey), Oliver, Lauren, Stephanie and Kaden.
Bringing up the rear was cutie pie Kellan and Daddy.  Kellan isn't a fan of holding hands but he was happy to be secure in Daddy's grasp while he walked through the crowded streets.
While we were in line to enter Coors field I noticed a heart melting hand holding moment from my handsome boys.
Once we got into the stadium we secured some hot dogs and cold Coors Light aluminum pints.  This package is new for the Golden brewery (only packaged in one other brewery) and we are very excited about it!  I was THRILLED to finally get to try it at our our home town baseball field.
Oliver was thrilled to have his little Rockies dog.
So was Kaden.  These kids were HUNGRY!
Kellan had a few dino chicken nuggets and he ate every last one!
Kellan also liked that he had a new Colorado Rockies hat.
Hailey we enjoying her own beverage of choice.
How can you not chuckle when you see tough guy Brian with a baby on board.
Lauren and Stephanie representing the beautiful Hamilton ladies.
Keith was not only a cozy seat but also a hat stand for Kellan's new hat.
Taking photos can often be about the right timing and timing doesn't always work out.
Take one of Kellan and cousin Lauren.
Take two of Kellan and cousin Lauren.
(I know you want to lean forward and give that grin a smooch!)
Take three.
Kellan is done and Stephanie is photo bombing.
Photo op over!
Dinger the mascot is available to meet in the third inning so once our hot dogs were history we headed over so the kids could meet him.  While we waited Aunt Stephanie took this great photo of Oliver and his Mommy.
Kids all around!
Lauren, Carrie, Oliver and Kaden.
Unfortunately we were about three groups from Dinger when they announced he was done.  Major Bummer!!  Instead he went down the line handing out high fives.  The kids were disappointed but excited to break out for cotton candy and popcorn.
Oliver was SO excited to have his much anticipated popcorn.
These photos tell a story within themselves.
At first, Kellan was curious about the popcorn.
Oliver shared a few kernels.
They both enjoyed a few kernels.
It appeared that Kellan was sharing with Daddy.
Kellan got pro-active and dove in for his own kernels.
It became apparent that Kellan wasn't sharing with Daddy but stock piling his stash.
Oliver starting shoveling a stock pile of popcorn into his mouth.
Kellan kept digging, Oliver kept shoveling.
Kellan's stock pile was getting hefty.
Kellan started wondering if there was anything left worth harvesting in the bottom of the bag.
After all of that digging and salty popcorn, Kellan was one thirsty boy.
Notice how red his eyes are?  The poor guy was So Tired and the dust in the air from the wind was messing with his baby blues.
Hailey and Kellan made it to nearly 9:00 before they announced that the youngest Rockies fan in the Hamilton family had called it quits.  On our way out, we stopped by the 3rd base line for a Wyoming Hamilton family photo.
The Colorado Hamiltons thought a photo would be nice, but Kellan and Oliver didn't agree.  Oliver was upset that he wasn't in the Wyoming family photo, Kellan was concerned as to why Oliver was upset.
Thanks to the nice usher standing near by, we got a family photo of all NINE of us!  Oliver was happy, Kellan was still curious, but overall we think this is a great photo to wrap up our wonderful weekend!
Sunday was another fun filled day as Stephanie and Carrie went to a Cinco (seis?) de Mayo Zumba class.  It was EXCELLENT and a great way to round out the weekend.  While we were out, the big kids had a great time at the playground while Hailey and Kellan caught up on some Man versus Wild.
Hailey and Kellan catching up on their opinion of Man versus Wild.  I'm not sure that they are buying into it not being a set up.
Before the Wyoming Hamiltons left they took out for another nature walk.
Oliver loves the long paths where he can really stretch his legs and get a good sprint in.
Brian, Keith and all FIVE of the kids!
The Wyoming Hamiltons headed back north that afternoon.  We had a GREAT time and look forward to them coming down to visit again soon!
