The summer is flying by and we are enjoying every minute of it!
Earlier this summer we thought we might loose Madalyn. She had lost 50% of her body weight and a great portion of her muscle function. After numerous tests that came up with no conclusion, we put her back on Prednisone, which she used to take for her asthma. She had not had any issues with asthma in months so we quit giving her the medication. It seems that did the trick and she is gaining weight and getting around much better. So much so that she had enough spring to jump up on the dishwasher and monitor Keith's progress.
Oliver continues with swimming lessons every Saturday and he loves it. His friend Cadence from Primrose is in the class as well and they have a great time. He is doing great and is becoming more and more comfortable in the water.
The third Saturday he requested that his Daddy watch him so we made it a family affair.
Kellan had a good time making goo-goo eyes at Mom for a photo.
This was also a big weekend for both boys. We officially deemed them too big for their car seats so they graduated to the next level. Poor Kellan gets all of the hand-me-downs, including his car seat. He will still be backward for a few more weeks until he turns one.
Oliver was excited for his new seat. Being the oldest comes with its perks like most everything is bought new for you.
Oliver kept a close eye on his Daddy to make sure everything was settled in just right.
The new seat is a BIG hit with Oliver.
Saturday night we went up to the Wells' in Conifer. We hadn't seen them in months and it was so great to get together.
Kellan enjoyed exploring the property with his new found freedom thanks to crawling. Last time he was here was at Christmas and he spent most of the time in his bouncy chair.
Jin and Oliver had a grand time exploring all of Jin's great stuff, including this swing set.
We all had a nice dinner together on the deck, including Oliver and Jin.
I LOVE this photos of Kellan. Not only are the Wells' great friend, their house provides for an amazing backdrop for photos.
While Kellan was cruisng around, Jin and Oliver were enjoying some Corn on the Cobb.
Jin is camera shy so I had to be sly in getting photos.
Eventually, Kellan was strapped down as well for a little dinner.
Jin had this awesome ride out in a boulder patch. There was a buggy that rode down a slide. I had never seen anything like it. The kids loved it!
After dinner ,Duke got to come out and play.
Oliver thought that riding Duke was great fun! It was followed by a dose of allergy medication but I'm sure he would say that it was worth it.
Jin and Oliver took turns riding Duke. Occasionally, Oliver would even help lead.
When there was a short pause in the action, Kellan saddled up on Duke.
Kellan didn't get to walk around on Duke, but he did enjoy the quick sit.
On the way back to the barn Jin and Oliver got to ride together.
Duke was Amazing! Next time we visit, we'll have to bring him some yummy treats to say Thank You.
After all of that hard work riding Duke, it was time for dessert back at the deck.
Kellan didn't need any dessert. He was over-the-top excited about the citronella candle lid.
We had a great visit with the Wells family but as the sun went down the boys got tired. They both fell fast asleep in their new car seats. Kellan was so tired he propped his head up on his bottle.
Sunday was a whole new day, waiting to be enjoyed. Before we know it the snow will fly so we are trying to soak up as much fun in the sun as possible. This usually entails filling up the kiddie pools.
The bigger pool is a tad deep for Kellan so occasionally the boys spend time together in the small pool.
Oliver leaning over to tell Kellan something really important.
Having fun in the pool!
Time for a cool beverage.
Oliver was "helping" Kellan by holding out his sippy cup to see if Kellan could land his lips around it. Eventually he caught it.
A bit later, Kellan discovered Mom's lemonade and decided it was much more fun if it was upside down.
Oliver moved on to the sprinkler pad.
Kellan made his way to the other side of the yard.
Oliver had slept in that morning so we didn't push a nap. Late that afternoon we decided it was time to get out of the heat and Oliver went inside to watch a movie. He said he wasn't resting, he was watching a movie. As hard as he tried, he couldn't keep his eyes open, even if his head was propped up on his fist. Ironically, he was watching Sleeping Beauty. I think they both may have fallen asleep at the same time.

Love (as in BIG PUFFY HEART LOVE-LOVE!) the snapshot of Kellan asleep in his carseat with the bottle! You may need to email that one to me, so I can smack it on my magnetic board! And just you wait...Big boy carseats TODAY, and tomorrow they'll turn ELEVEN YEARS OLD, and you will sob because they're growing up. Take it from a mama who has been there...the boy turned 11 this week, and wow! Where did all the time go?!
