In the Summertime when the Weather is High

This song rings through my head as I type up this blog post.  We have been having a great summer!!  We have been taking advantage of the great weather to be outside.  Sadly, the snow will fly before we know it.  Winter will be great, but there is something special about Summer.

On Friday night, Theresa (the neighbor) kicked it off right with fun creamscicle drinks for the kids.
Oliver loves her and the fun treats that comes his way.  I tease her that she makes the rest of us Mom's look bad. :)
Oliver, Joel and Brock enjoying their yummy drinks.
These next shots of Oliver are a bit blurry since they were action shots.  He was loving his drink so much that he was spinning while he was drinking.  The glass was almost as tall as he was!!
How do you like his helmet?  We have yet to buy him a new bike helmet and we don't dare buy one without him there because of his over achieving brain.  In the meantime, we use his ski helmet.
Brady trying out Oliver's Stryder.
Saturday morning, Kellan was bright eyed and bushy tailed, tearing apart Oliver's table.

Breakfast time, YUM!

Hip Hip Hooray for Breakfast!
Notice the Spiderman band aide on his wrist.  Learning to ride a bike comes with numerous bumps, bruises and scrapes.  Sometimes it takes a Spidey band aid to make it all better.
Oliver and Kellan bellied up at the table for some coloring.
You can always tell when it's time to do laundry when the kids PJ's are a little more creative than usual.
Kellan helping with the coloring.

Once again, Oliver had swim lessons.  He's doing great and really getting comfortable in the water.  He likes to put his head in the water and then report back at the end of the lessons how many times he put his head under water.  Sometimes it's just his face and sometimes it's his whole head.  We are very proud how far he has come in the water.
Following the leader through the pool.
Oliver and Cadence.
Saturday night our friends Chris and Heather came over for dinner with their daughter Taylor.
Taylor brought some Pop-It's for the kids to enjoy in the front yard.
Kellan hanging out with the guys.

Taylor taking the Lighting McQueen wheels for a spin.
Oliver and Taylor pausing for a pose.
Oliver and Taylor racing.

Kellan playing ball.  Next summer, he'll be on a bike too!

Happy boy in the grass.

As the sun started to go down we broke out the sidewalk chalk.  Taylor was showing Kellan the art of chalk drawing.

Oliver drew a stripe down the sidewalk and he said it was the racetrack.  He is really into racing right now and keeps asking for a racetrack like his cousin Rio has.
Someones getting tired eyes.
The army crawling skills came in handy for maneuvering chalk around the driveway.
Once the racetrack was done, Oliver had to give it a spin.  These aren't great examples, but notice both of his feet are up.  His balance has improved in leaps and bounds lately.

Oliver got a new coloring book and he was very proud of his latest creation.  He is very proud of his ability to stay in the lines.
Sunday morning the boys and I headed North to meet Shawna and her kids at a water pad in Loveland.  Oliver LOVED these water guns.
Oliver shooting water over Ian and he ran under the water bridge.
Kellan enjoyed playing on the sideline.  He crawled through the water a little bit but it's tough to take pictures of the boys while watching them go in opposite directions.
Next to the water pad is a play area under a huge shade tent.  This is Oliver riding a teter-toter thing with Kellan in the background.

Abigail on a bouncy thing.
Oliver giving the bouncy thing a try.
Kellan is quite the cuddle bug and he enjoyed giving his Mommy some snuggles in the shade.

My sweet angel Kellan.  He's such a lover boy.  I can't get enough of his snuggles.
Kellan and Keith were chasing each other around the island and Kellan laughed and laughed.  By the time I got the camera the game had changed a bit, but he here are some videos of him anyway, having fun in the Summertime.

We hope this finds all of you having fun in the Summertime as well.  Before you know it, you'll see snow photos on this blog.  Hopefully, there are many more weeks of Summertime moments to share before Old Man Winter makes his way into Colorado.
