Easter with the Neighbors

A weekend prior to Easter, we had an Easter celebration with a few of the neighbors on our street.  On the agenda was a BBQ and an egg hunt for the kids.  That Saturday, Oliver helped stuff eggs for the hunt with jelly beans.  As he stuffed, he may have tasted a few jelly beans for quality control.  I explained that this is the benefit of doing the work.
He carefully put the jelly beans in each egg.
Which much concentration, he closed the egg, careful not too loose the beans.
Before he knew it, he was in search of the next egg to fill.
Several times toward the end, he counted how many eggs we had filled.
Shortly after our egg filling job was done, we headed outside to clean up the yard.  There were several bushes that needed trimmed and a few plants with dead leaves laying around that needed cleaned up.  It was a beautiful day that even Madalyn was enjoying.  One of her favorite activities is rolling in dead leaves until she is dirty from head to toe.  Then, she takes a nap in the sun.  The only down side is she gets a good wipe down bath and brushing before going in the house.  She tolerates the wipe down bath.  It seems to be a fair trade.
On Sunday, we headed off to a neighboring park for our BBQ and egg hunt.  In no time at all, the kids were off in search of eggs.  Oliver was not shy to dash into egg land himself.
He found eggs here...
He dashed to there...
There seemed to be eggs everywhere.
Oliver had quite a stash of brightly colored eggs.
Kellan was content flirting with the neighbor ladies from the protection of his car seat.  It was a very windy afternoon.

I post this photo for the pure sake of proving that as infants, my boys are always ready for a photo op.  Oliver has proven that as they grow up, this interest fades.
The gang of neighbors.
Keith stoking the camp stove to warm the baked beans.
Oliver expressing his new found love for pickles.

While all of the kids were eating,
Kellan was entertained with one of the eggs.
Time for Theressa's amazing dessert!
The next day was her son Brady's birthday, so this was a practice birthday party for him.
Oliver's favorite part of the dessert was the cherry on top.
We had a great time.  We are so fortunate to live by such amazing neighbors.
