On December 23, 2010, Kellan was four months old and also had his four month check-up. It is amazing how fast four months have gone by and how much he is changing and growing. He is smiling, laughing and talk-talk-talking. He is quite the chatter box. He is becoming more of a cuddler and I find him snuggling in close to me now more than ever before. At four months, the Doctor gave him a very good bill of health and gave us the green light to try solid food. YAY! Kellan has always been a good eater, and moving to rice cereal and baby food has been quite an easy transition for him. Here he is, on his four month birthday, enjoying some bland and very liquid rice cereal. As the days have gone on, his cereal is becoming thicker and he is eating it twice a day; rice cereal in the morning and vegetable in the evening. We are still hoping his new diet will help his sleeping habits as well. We were spoiled with Oliver and he was sleeping 10-12 hours a night at 10 weeks of age. Kellan is still getting up at least once a night, usually around 2:00 AM and then again at 5:00 ish. Sometimes he pushes the first wake-up to 4:00 and sometimes he pulls it ahead to midnight. The wake-ups aren't that bad though, we are welcomed by a big toothless grins with dimples and bright eyes that seem to shine on for miles.
Even though Kellan's eating habits are "solid" (ha ha) his growth is slowing down, thankfully. At two months, he was in the 95th percentile at 14 lbs 5 oz and 24.75" long. At four months he is in the 83rd percentile at 16 lbs 9 oz and 26" in length. Overall, we have an extremely happy and healthy baby boy.
