When approaching the Dragons Championship game, it's critical to do appropriate stretches.
Cole takes this tip seriously as he gets into iPad watching position.
Enjoy your last game in the chairs boys, next year, you're on the field.
Cole takes stretching seriously and his brother Owen takes celebrations seriously. This boy is so fun to watch. He's always got a celebration pose, even for the small stuff. You don't want to be on the other end of these flags as Owen pulls them off and strikes a victory pose. Of course, he always hands them back in true gentleman fashion.
That's right, the time had come for the Dragons flag football championship game. It had been pushed out past Memorial Day because of weather delays earlier in the season. The boys were all rested and ready to rumble.
Early on, Oliver got the ball and carried it down the field.
Yes, it kills me that this photo of Oliver is not focused on Oliver. I can always tell when I'm excited about a game when my photos aren't quite focused. I guess I'm more focused on the game than the photos.
Or... Oliver is just so fast that he's nothing but a blur. Likely true.
He picked up quite a bit of yardage before having his flags pulled.
He also took his role in the fake position quite serious. This is a common role for Oliver to play and he loves having an important role to play.
He takes his role so seriously that he supports his team mate Rhyson all of the way down field for a touchdown.
Then... Oliver made a critical move in the game.
The opponents quarter back was holding back with the ball, looking for a guy to throw it too. Meanwhile, the Dragons were just watching it all happen, waiting for the ball to fly.
Coach Ben gave Oliver a job. That job was to rush the quarter back.
He takes his jobs very seriously and the second the ball moved, he was on it.
This put pressure on the quarter back to throw the ball, which ended in an incomplete pass.
Way to Go, Oliver!!
After the game, the coaches pulled the boys to the side to debrief and hand out some awards.
Each player was awarded a medal and words of praise.
The Dragons gave a "DRAGONS!" chant.
Then... they were awarded their championship trophies.
Dragons win and take home a Fourth Championship Trophy after a Fourth Undefeated Season.
This Championship didn't come easy. These boys worked hard for these trophy's. They listened, stayed focused and had drive and determination that's unmatched. These boys are amazing when they play together as a team. As mostly younger 6 year olds, they took on the 6-7 year old league and earned every single win.
Way to Go, Dragons!!
We loved every second of it and can't wait for Fall Football.
Our Four Time Championship Flag Football Player.
Go Oliver Go!
We are SO VERY Proud of You!
Owen and Oliver celebrating.
Every great championship game should end with a Gatorade.
Cheers to the Dragons!
