Trottin' the Globe

On every kids bucket list is a trip to see the Globetrotters.   As adults, we all talked about how we either did see the Globetrotters as kids or wish we had.  For Keith, he had checked the box.  For Carrie, that box was still open.  For the kids.... it was ALL open.  They may not have really known who the Globetrotters were, but we all know that they sure look like fun.

So... on one fine Saturday in March, we took the whole gang to mark the box.

Owen, Owen, Emerson, Chase, Evan, Cole, Kellan and Oliver
Kristi hooked us up with a VIP deal with Owen's basketball team so we had to get there early.  Some were more entertaining than others while we waited.

Kellan and Evan
Some of the dudes were quite cool.
Owen, Oliver and Chase
Miss Emerson, cute as always.  This is one tough chica who knows how to hang with the boys.
After much anticipation, the Globetrotters came out onto the court.
The kids had their laps full of stadium treats and they watched with curiosity.
Owen, Oliver, Chase, Emerson, Kellan, Evan, Brad
As the Globetrotters started their show, the boys thought that they were hilarious!
Seriously... SO FUNNY!
You can't stage this kind of laughter.  It's the real deal!
At half time, the VIP treatment kicked in.  Our kids were the only kids who got to pose for a photo with the entire team.  In the picture, all of our kids and Owen's basketball team.  It was such an awesome opportunity.  Thanks Kristi for hooking it up!
As the second half of the game started, one of the Dad's bought cotton candy for the entire gang. It was awesome... for the kids :)

What goes in must come out.
Some of the kids worked their sugar with some good 'ol fashion clapping and cheering.
Some kids (Kellan) wiggled it out with some groovy moves.
Go Kellan... Go Kellan!
As the game progressed, so did the humor.
Not just any humor, "boy" humor.
The fun really got rolling when the jokes were all about underwear, butts and farting.
Yes, the boys LOVED it!

When it was all said and done, the Globetrotters won 87-83.
Whew, it was close for a bit.
Really, the fun's not done until Mommy's and Daddy's all around the stadium are convinced to purchase over priced souvenirs.
It's a good thing these boys are so cute.    We almost had to trade them in so that we could afford a few basketballs.  Lucky for them, we had just enough cash.
The balls bounced all of the way from inside to the outside and that is where the fancy leg tricks came in.
Our very own fancy pant Globetrotters:
Oliver, Owen and Kellan

As if going to the Globetrotters wasn't enough, we ventured to the Cherry Cricket for dinner!
Kristi and Jennie, my dear friends who put up with my request to eat burgers and frings at the Cherry Cricket.  I LOVE the Cherry Cricket and most of the time, I get out voted.  The stars and stripes must have been in my favor as we all joined up at the Cherry Cricket.  (I may have been selling the guys on it to the side too...shhhh)
Happy Mamas!
Kristi, Carrie and Jennie
It was such a fun outing with friends and all of our adorable kiddos.
The box has been checked for all of us.  We can now say that we have seen the Globetrotters.  The next time our kids see them again, they may be taking their own kids.... or their Daddy's for some more "boy" humor :)
