The Race is On

When it snows one day and we have a Colorado blue sky day the next, we go outside to play.
When the snow isn't great for making snowmen, some of us make snow angels.
While others continue to work on the snowman.
Daddy was the most persistent of all.  He rolled this snowball all over our yard.
Finally, we ended up with two snowballs big enough to stack.
Kellan was such a big help... or not.
Oliver had just the right size ball for the head.
Finally, it was all coming together.
Two years after buying a snowman accessory kit, we were finally able to put it to use.
Kellan was so excited about the new snowman that was just his size, he leaned in to give him a kiss.
I asked them to name the new snowman and Oliver said "snowy" while Kellan said "OliverKellan".

Kellan's snowman kiss was so cute, I asked the boys to give OliverKellan a kiss to welcome him to the family.
Even Mommy and Daddy got in on the photo, thanks to Oliver's new ability to use Mommy's big camera.
With the snowman built and such a nice day, we headed to a hill in the hood to try out some sledding.
Kellan wasn't willing to sit in the sled, but he was willing to slide down on his bum.
Oliver couldn't wait to jump in the sled.

Even Mommy and Oliver slid down the hill.  Oliver decided he wanted the back seat since the snow wouldn't spray him in the face that way.

Kellan and Daddy got a little sidetracked with the drainage water from snow melt.
Oliver just slid right into it.
Eventually, it was time to head home for some lunch and the boys jumped in their chariot and said "mush, Daddy."
As if racing down the hill wasn't enough thrill for one day, the boys busted out a game of Monopoly.  This was the first Ham-Fam-Boys Monopoly challenge and I doubt that it will be the last.  Come to find out, Oliver enjoys playing Monopoly at school now and then.
The rules were discussed and the property sales began.
Kellan checked to make sure that his money and property were aligned.
"MmmHmm.. Yes, Daddy, you owe me rent."

It is quite possible that Oliver was calling Daddy's bluff.

Eventually, Kellan lost interest and Oliver held tight on the lead.
He's not humble when it comes to kicking Daddy around the Monopoly board while he scrambles to pay his son rent.
A few Free Parking loots sure helped.
In the end, Oliver creamed his Daddy in Monopoly.  It came down to Daddy landing on Oliver's hotels back to back and he didn't have the funds to fulfil the rent.

Nicely Played, Oliver!
