Huntin' in the Hood

This time last year, we were working on moving.  We were excited that this year, we were here, in the hood and fired up for our first neighborhood Easter Egg Hung.
The boys had baskets and Oliver had his Broncos pride on.
Kellan had a basket and he was fired up and ready to roll.
They did a practice round from the back yard to the starting point.
They scoped out the best attach route.
They practiced balancing the basket while not stepping on eggs.
Oliver posed for a quick photo with our neighbor, Samantha.
Samantha and Oliver will both start Kindergarten together next year.
Then, they said "GO!"
The race was on.
The tongue was out and the challenge was on.
There was a slight pause because they had said that each kid could get 6 eggs.  Being the rule followers that the Hamilton boys are, they stopped at 6.  In no time at all, it was very clear that there were more than enough eggs for every kid and they were opened up to picking up as many eggs as they wanted.
The race is on again.

I love the look of excitement that the little guys get when they discover an egg and that they can pick it up.

Oliver isn't the only one who sticks his tongue out in concentration.

My camera and I were there to witness Samantha giving Oliver a yellow egg.
Such a sweet girl.

Kellan and his basket of (candy filled) goodies.

Looky Looky
The boys with their full baskets just moments before they cracked the eggs to discover that they were full of candy.
What a great neighborhood event and another tradition to add into our memory banks.  We loved it!!  Now... the wait for the Easter Bunny to arrive.
