First Game of Flag Football

Sunday was Oliver's first official flag football game.  Early that morning, Oliver and Daddy went outside to practice running with the ball...
... hut, hut, hiking and catching the ball...
...taking a bad throw in the face and still walking away like a tough guy with no tears...
...catching a better throw from Daddy...
... and running to get a touchdown!!
Before football, the Stack's came over for brunch.  YUM!
After we ate, we took the boys to the park where they played on everything except the playground equipment.

Parker jumping from the rocks.
Back in the house, the boys talked to Benjamin, who is only three months old.
Parker, Kellan, Oliver and Benjamin had a great Sunday morning chat.
At noon, we headed out to the field for flag football.  They practice for an hour and then play a game for an hour.  What was more exciting to the Dad's?  That their son's were playing football or their fantasy football leagues?
Kellan enjoyed practicing on the sidelines.
He was working on his throwing arm.  Sometimes, his hand release and throwing arm didn't connect like they should.
It must have just taken a little tongue sticking out to make the ball go straight and forward.
In no time, throwing the ball became so easy that he could stroll casually behind it after a quick toss.
Meanwhile, Oliver and the boys were practicing.  Right in front of the coach you'll see Oliver trying to get his flag.
Kellan kept practicing.  You never know when they'll call him in as a sub.  It's important to be prepared.

As the boys got in position to play, I realized that it's going to be a bit tougher to capture photos than it was in Soccer.  The field is much bigger and it's not just a cluster of kids running after the ball.  They actually play positions!  That is Oliver on the far left with his back to the camera.
Here the boys are getting ready to go again.
Oliver is on the far left.
I couldn't figure out why all of the boys stood with their hands on their knees with their knees together until later I told Oliver to "take a knee" and this is the position he went into.  Maybe they haven't gotten to that part of the coaching yet.
Again, Oliver is on the far left.
Oliver taking it easy during one of the water breaks.
Three of the Four Ham Fam cheering on Oliver!
Go OLIVER!!
(Ok, so the real story is that as we were leaving for football I pulled a muscle in my back and I could barely move.  Kellan REALLY wanted his Mama to hold him but I couldn't.  This was the compromise.  Daddy held him while he snuggled on my shoulder.  Ahhh Kodak moment)
Happy Football Season!!!
