After a great night of sleep and finally feeling like we were in sync with the time zone, we were up an at 'em to find our way to the top of the Eiffel Tower. We knocked out our first 1.5 mile walk of the day to make our way down and get in line for the Eiffel Tower gates.
The lines the afternoon before atrocious and moved VERY slow. This morning, we were right to the front and heading into the tram within 20 minutes.
Without stalling (maybe some internal hesitation) we jumped in the tram, and headed straight for the top.
The ride up was nerve racking.
Keith LOVED it! I avoided looking down.
At the top of the tram, we paused for a moment to acclimate before climbing the stairs up one level.
The view from the top was unbelievable!
We could see landmarks that we had seen and those that were yet to be seen.
I was a bit nervous close to the edge, but happy to be spending so much time with my camera.
We were super excited to have a mimosa at the champagne bar up top... which ended up being closed. Party Foul!
281 Meters above what, we're not sure. The tower is 324 meters tall, or 1,063 feet tall. It is as tall as an 81 story building.
That third dirt square from the bottom is where we took photos from the afternoon before.
It's hard to see in the photos, but I loved to see the structures of the buildings from the rooftops. Many of them had courtyards in the middle, some had landscaped roofs.
The Arc de Triomphe in the middle.
After making two trips around the top of the tower, we headed back down the tram.
We LOVED going up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and was definitely a bucket list must do item.
After our trip to the top, we stopped by a street vendor down below to partake in another tradition of a freshly made crepe with nutella.
Piping hot crepe by the Seine.
Pipin hot crepe by the Eiffel Tower.... now we're talking!
All I did was turn around :)
We had a tour coming up that afternoon of Versailles so we headed back toward the hotel but opted to walk along the Seine river.
Selfie under the bridge.
Walking 8 mile or more a day will bring about interesting things, like calf cramps. Sometimes, a girls just got to stop and stretch.
The ferris wheel at the end of the Champs des Elysees.
Place De La Concorde
We literally watched fall come to life in the four days that we were there. It went from a few crinkled leaves on the ground to full on fall.
Once again on the Champs des Elysees, we experienced some great fashion watching. It's hard to see, but this guys accordion pleated pants were the same material as a skirt I had when I was a kid.
Of course, Louis Vuitton was very present, so we went inside to see what all of the fuss was about.
Well, it appears that Louis is a Broncos fan too!
Not only was there a Broncos hand bag, but a sweater as well.
What's this, a sweater and matching skirt?!
My one regret was that I didn't take note of the price tag before the sales lady came to tell us that she was there to help us. We took that as a sign to move on, while giggling at the craziness of it all.
Paris is Amazing and Gorgeous on every corner.
We made it back to the hotel to catch our tour to Versailles. Again, a line to get in. The security in Paris was high (and welcome), so there were extra bag checks.
Becoming a trend, selfies everywhere. This one is just inside the gates of Versailles.
Checking out Versailles before we could enter.
After these photos our tour guide Christophe said, "where you posing?"
I said, "Yes, of course!"
HA HA HA!
Even Keith was mastering the art of the tourist pose.
Versailles was huge and we weren't even technically inside the palace yet.
You know, checking things out, striking a few poses, waiting to get into the golden gates.
Such a rebel, I touched the gold. Nobody was touching it. Really, doesn't it look like it should be touched to see if it's real? I'm pretty sure it was just pretty paint.
Not only was I a rebel who touched it with one finger, but too. GASP! The scandal!
Looking back toward where we came in, you could see two very large buildings, which were the horse stables.
Finally inside, we were instantly impressed.
Christpohe let us know that we could find him by his red trousers.
Through our stay, we saw several men in red trousers. Even with that, I couldn't convince Keith to get some.
The artwork and details inside were unreal.
This was the kings bedroom, for public display. He never slept here.
This is the room where they hosted royal balls. It was my FAVORITE room!! I told Keith that this room made me want to have a dance party and to spin around in a twirly dress. Too bad it was crowded with people or we would have taking a spin on the dance floor.
The stone that these vases and some of the statues are made from cannot be found on earth, so says Christophe.
Keith and I are too logical and questioned this to long lengths. Supposedly it came from the heart of Mount Vesuvius and you can't find it on earth. Well, somebody found it because it's quite plentiful in Versailles. I took photos even though I gave Christophe a strong suspicious eye.
The gardens and courtyard view from the ballroom.
This was the Kings office where he conducted royal business. I think Keith may like home office like this.
This is the King's actual bedroom where he slept.
After a fascinating tour of the palace, we got to spend some time in the immaculate gardens.
Garden selfie, because it's what we do.
Taking a few photos, taking a bit of a walk.
When there are fun statues, mimicking poses are almost required and completely irresistible.
Then, it happened..... Keith put on the Murse (man purse, as he called it).
After a very full and fantastic day, it was too early for dinner in Paris, but we were ready for some rest, relaxation and charcuterie.
That evening, we headed out to dinner at another Concierge recommended location. Olivier is the Concierge's name, which was a sign that he would have some great recommendation. He didn't disappoint and totally hooked us up. Le Moulin de la Galette was just below the Sacre Coeur and was perfect. We had a great patio seat on a warm summers night. Perfecto!
The drink we have is a spritzer. The waiter said that it was very fashionable drink this season so of course we had to try it. It was delish!
The food was exactly as we were hoping, to die for. Plus, the steak came with french fries. Bonus!
Personal organic Lemon Meringue pie, yes please!
After dinner, we walked up to the Sacre Coeur.
Lucky for us, we were greeted with a parade!
Just over the hill and between a few buildings, the Eiffel Tower was all aglow.
The area was super cute and charming with several shops and restaurants. We were so glad that we made our way up there.
Sacre Coeur Basilica
After a stroll around, we headed down the hill to check out some new scenery. The vibe was great and the area was all a buzz.
After a very long day of touring four major attractions, five if you count the Seine, we dialed up Uber to take us home.
Apparently, carrying the murse is quite hilarious :)
Day 2 in Paris was exceptional and we loved it!! We couldn't wait to see what day 3 would bring!

Keith with the murse is my new favorite thing of EVER!! Except... those fries looked pretty dang tasty, and the ballroom!! Can you even imagine living there? Or vacuuming there?! Cue emoji with laughter and tears!
